Is it worth choosing a Google Pixel phone?
Pure Android Experience and Longer Updates
Google Pixel phones provide a pure Android operating system experience – free from unnecessary manufacturer-installed apps or aggressive modifications. As a result, the devices operate quickly and stably, maximizing the capabilities of the latest Android versions. Starting from the Pixel 8 series, Google guarantees up to 7 years of OS and security updates, ensuring that these devices remain secure and functional for a long time compared to many other Android phones.
Camera and Photography Capabilities
Pixel phones are renowned for their camera quality, with the Pixel 8 Pro model standing out in particular. The latest Pixel 8 Pro features a 50 MP main camera with improved low-light sensitivity, a 48 MP ultra-wide camera, and a 48 MP telephoto lens with 5× optical zoom (and up to 30× Super Res Zoom). Meanwhile, the Pixel 8 model has two rear cameras – a 50 MP main and a 12 MP ultra-wide.
Pixel 8 Pro also offers advanced AI features such as Magic Editor (allows re-composing shots, moving objects, or removing unwanted elements) and Audio Magic Eraser (reduces unwanted noise in videos). Additionally, Best Take, Night Sight, and other Google computational photography features help achieve professional results with ease.
Screen Quality and Other Features
Pixel 8 Pro has a 6.7-inch LTPO OLED Super Actua display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, which can dynamically drop to 1 Hz for energy saving. This display is up to ~42% brighter than the previous generation and reaches a peak brightness of up to 2400 nits. The Pixel 8 screen is slightly smaller – a 6.2-inch Actua OLED, with an adaptive refresh rate of 60–120 Hz and up to 2000 nits peak brightness (without 1 Hz LTPO mode).
Google Pixel Repair and Screen Replacement Costs
Replacing AMOLED screens is still relatively expensive. If the glass of your Pixel phone is cracked but the screen displays images and the touch layer works, our service offers to replace only the top glass whenever possible – preserving the original screen quality and reducing repair costs. The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro models use durable Gorilla Glass (Victus 2 in the Pro version), so it’s worth considering accident insurance, especially if the phone is frequently used in demanding conditions.
Summary
Overall, Pixel 8 Pro is currently one of the strongest Android phones on the market: exceptional camera quality, advanced AI features, an extremely bright and smooth display, and long-lasting updates make it reliable for both everyday use and work. The Google Pixel series offers a clean Android experience and long update periods, ensuring that your device remains modern and secure for a long time. If you are looking for a reliable, powerful, and functional phone, Google Pixel models are worth considering. And if you encounter any issues or need repair services, our service is ready to help – to keep your Google Pixel functioning optimally and for a long time.
