Most common iPhone XS faults and their causes

1. Battery capacity loss
   After roughly 500 charge cycles, the original 2 658 mAh iPhone XS battery often approaches 80 percent of its original capacity. The phone then drains faster, provides less call time and responds more slowly in the cold. An old battery may also swell, putting pressure on the screen and case. Arrange a repair promptly to prevent damage to internal components.

2. Screen glass cracks, colour distortion and sensor faults
   If only the top glass is damaged, it is often enough to replace the glass. This is a cheaper solution than replacing the whole OLED module. If you see stains, green bands, flickering, a black area on the screen or touch does not work, the whole OLED module usually needs to be replaced. After an inspection we tell you which option suits your phone.

3. Lightning connector wear
   Frequent cable use, dust, pocket lint and moisture can wear out the charging port. The phone may charge only at a certain angle, lose its data connection or stop charging. Cleaning can be enough, but if the contacts are damaged, we replace the connector module and test charging with several cables.

4. Buttons not working
   The power, volume and other side buttons stick due to dust, impacts, housing deformation or flex cable damage. The iPhone XS has no physical Home button, so we mostly check the side buttons, the vibration switch and their contacts. If the micro contacts no longer respond, we replace the necessary part.

5. Camera module problems
   The image deteriorates due to scratched lens glass, an impact, dust under the glass or a damaged camera module. Common signs are blurriness, spots, focusing errors and shaky photos. We check whether replacing the lens glass is enough or whether a new camera module is needed.

6. Software glitches
   After an iOS update, the phone may freeze, drain faster, charge slowly or become unstable. We check the battery, memory usage, system errors and software version. Where appropriate, we restart iOS, recover data or reinstall the software.
