Models and common faults
Each generation has its own design and common weaknesses. We repair the following faults:
Sony PlayStation 5 and PS4 repair
PS5 liquid metal: The PlayStation 5 uses liquid metal to cool its processor. Incorrect console positioning or factory defects can cause leaks and severe overheating. We reapply the liquid metal and renew the insulation.
HDMI port replacement: In PS5 and PS4 models, HDMI connections are very sensitive to mechanical damage. We replace the ports using a soldering microscope, preserving the main board traces.
DualSense stick drift: We repair PS5 controller analog sticks when characters move on screen without input.
Xbox Series X | S maintenance and Xbox One repairs
Power circuit repair: If the Xbox does not turn on after power surges, it often requires replacement of the power supply or motherboard circuit components.
SSD Upgrades: Xbox Series consoles use specific NVMe SSDs, which we diagnose and replace. On older Xbox One models, we also upgrade HDD storage to SSD to improve performance.
HDMI Retriever (IC) replacement: If the console runs but displays no video, a burned-out video signal controller is a common cause.
Nintendo Switch (V1, V2, OLED) repair
USB-C and charging controller replacement: Failures of the “M92T36” chip are the most common reason why the Switch does not charge.
Joy-Con repair: We resolve drift faults promptly by fitting new modules.
Screen replacement: We replace both LCD and newer OLED panels.
Maintenance and micro-soldering
1. Cooling system maintenance
Dust can block the airflow that Sony and Microsoft consoles need for cooling.
When to contact us: If the console becomes very loud or shuts down while running AAA-level games.
What we do: We clean radiators and fans, and fit high-conductivity thermal paste such as Thermal Grizzly).
2. Mainboard (BGA) repair
Mainboard repair is complex work that requires experience. For consoles showing error codes or shutting down unexpectedly, we carry out APU reballing, replace PWM controllers and repair short circuits.
3. Software recovery and SSD/HDD optimization
If the system runs slowly, crashes or fails to start, we restore the software, migrate data or replace the drive with a faster SSD. Alongside fixing the fault, this can improve game loading times by up to 40%.
4. HDMI and USB port replacement
We only use specific ports tailored for each model. After replacement, we conduct tests with a 4K 120Hz signal (PS5/Xbox Series X) to ensure complete functionality.
