Replacing the glass or screen of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 (X700/X706) is usually done within 1-3 hours, and battery replacement within 1-2 hours. We perform the work on-site, so we focus on quick and quality execution.

Yes, we provide a 3-month warranty for the repair work of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 (X700/X706).

In certain cases, a full screen replacement can be avoided by only replacing the screen glass. The screen glass of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 (X700/X706) can only be replaced if the screen has no stains, spots, colored lines, and if it does not flicker. The screen must also be original.

You won’t notice, as your original screen remains.

After replacing the screen or glass, we always recommend our clients to apply a protective glass. An additional protective layer will protect your device from scratches and reduce the likelihood of breaking during impact. This is a small investment that will help save in the future.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 (X700/X706) repairs at Fixas

  • Screen and glass replacement. The Galaxy Tab S8 (models SM-X700 and SM-X706) has an 11-inch TFT LCD screen with a resolution of 1600 × 2560 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. If there are cracks, chips, or colored lines on the screen (usually after a fall or strong pressure), we first test just the glass replacement. Glass is suitable only if there is no LED lighting, sensor, or matrix damage – i.e., there are no black spots, dots, or flickering visible on the screen. If there are lighting issues or certain pixel groups are damaged, the entire screen must be replaced (TFT matrix with a touch layer). We change the original screen (OEM) within 1-2 business days.

  • Battery replacement. The Galaxy Tab S8 has an internal non-replaceable 8000 mAh (typical capacity) Li-Po battery that supports 45 W fast charging via USB-C. Over time, this battery loses some capacity (after approximately 500-800 full charge cycles, capacity can drop to 70-80% of the original), and it may sometimes tend to slightly “swell” (due to the internal electrolyte expanding), leading to bulging or incomplete charging. The most common battery issues include:

    • Rapid discharge or sudden discharge indication: the phone displays “0%” while there is still 20-30% actual capacity remaining.

    • Battery swelling: the battery noticeably swells and changes the shape of the tablet’s casing; pressing on the touch surface may feel like a soft “bump”.

    • Charging stoppage (“not charging”): the tablet no longer holds a charge or shows that it is charged, even though it indicates “charging” when the old battery is replaced with a cable. The most common cause is a cracked/broken component or a contaminated electronics block.

    • Battery overheating protection: especially in hot weather (above +40 °C), the battery can overheat quickly and automatically stop charging.
We replace the original or similarly quality Li-Po battery within 1-2 hours: we install a new 8000 mAh module, check if the system properly calibrates the new capacity, and re-test the charging cycle.

  • Charging port and flex cable repair. The Galaxy Tab S8 uses a USB Type-C connection for data transfer, video output (DisplayPort alt mode), and charging (45 W PPS). The charging port often wears down from constant cable connections at an angle or gets dusty, and moisture can enter (especially in summer – at beaches, after rain). Consequences include:

    • Poor contact or sudden charging interruption. The tablet indicates it’s charging, but the charging percentage does not increase or stays at the same spot.

    • Bending or breaking of the terminal. The USB C port is angled, or the internal contact breaks – requiring constant pressure on a plastic plate when connecting the cable.

    • Oxidation and corrosion. Since the USB C port is at the bottom of the casing, sweat and moisture can penetrate – leading to a risk of short circuit.
Our technicians replace the damaged USB C connector (with a new flex cable and contact plate) and, if necessary, update and tie the data transfer paths “flexes” (wires) to the mainboard. After repair, we conduct an additional battery charging cycle test and USB C throughput check.

  • Button, switch, speaker and microphone repairs.

    • Power button: due to prolonged use, it may get stuck or not turn on, responding with a delay. The most common issue is the sticking mechanism of the button or worn contact.

    • Volume control buttons: volume buttons may not respond or “jitter,” meaning the sound changes unintentionally if the contacts corrode.

    • Power buttons and wiring: some Tab S8 versions (X706) have a built-in 5G modem, and some antenna/power flex lines run through the button module – mechanical damage may cause GPS/4G/5G connectivity issues.

    • Speaker/microphone module: the internal stereo sound system (tunes by AKG) may produce distorted sound, noise, or one speaker may sound quieter. The microphone sometimes produces buzzing or “echo” sounds. Replacing the modules usually resolves these issues.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 screen replacement

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 (SM-X700/X706) has an 11-inch TFT LCD matrix protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. If you see the following on the screen:

  • Gray/black covered areas or spots indicate that the matrix is damaged or that irreversible pixel group damage has occurred.

  • Bright or colored lines – a common failure cause – is a defective internal TFT layer or broken sensor.

  • Pulsating brightness or flickering when touching the screen indicates that micro-cracks have formed at the diagonal layer of the screen.
In such cases, we usually replace the entire module (matrix + sensor + glass frame). If there are no pixel damages on the screen (no dots visible), there are situations where just replacing the outer glass layer suffices – then the colors, brightness, and sensitivity of the screen remain original. After the screen or glass replacement, we always perform color calibration, touch sensitivity checks, and then conduct a 72-hour test managing brightness, frequency, and touch response.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 battery replacement

Galaxy Tab S8 models SM-X700 (Wi-Fi) and SM-X706 (Wi-Fi + 5G) feature a 8000 mAh Li-Po battery, which in third-party laboratory tests (IEC 61960) achieves a typical mode of 7760 mAh. The original battery is non-removable, so it requires opening the casing for removal. The most common battery issues include:

  • Long charging time or doesn’t charge above 90%. If the tablet cannot accept a full charge, the problem may be with the controller protecting the photoelectric cells or internal micro-tubes (anodes) being shorted.

  • Sudden shutdowns below 20% remaining, indicating that capacity has dropped or sections of it are swollen within the internal layers.

  • Battery swelling – due to environmental conditions (high temperature, many charge cycles without appropriate maintenance).

  • Battery safety issues (over-current, short-circuit) – these can occur due to moisture or chemicals penetrating inside or due to the likelihood of factory defects (sometimes opening after ~18-24 months from the production date)
